A College is always responsible for the holistic development of all its students. Accordingly, along with academic excellence, a college should nurture in every child their creative talent, intellectual curiosity and propagate an exchange of cultural ideas and thoughts. It is for this very purpose that a Cultural Committee is appointed. It provides a platform for the students to exhibit their talents and exchange ideas by organising an array of events and activities for the students to participate in and get recognition. It grooms the students to host as well as represent their College at fests hosted by other Colleges.

The Cultural Committee is formed at the beginning of every academic year to promote and arrange various activities. Students who wish to join this committee have to fill out a registration form giving details about their interests and hobbies. After this a meeting of these students is called wherein office bearers like the Cultural Secretary, Various Creative Heads, and the Contingent Leader are elected. The committee informs the students as well as the staff well in advance about the various events or celebrations organised by circulating and displaying notices on the boards. Invites from other colleges are also displayedso that students can participate in the events of their choice. The college helps the students by training, grooming and incurring expenses for the choreographer, costumes and sometimes even travel to other colleges for participation.

The Celebrations comprised of a reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution by NSS Students and simultaneous recitation by entire staff and students gathered in the auditorium of college. Our Cosponsors were Mirachem Industries, LIC of India, Union Bank, OPPO phones, Terence Lewis Academy and Body Canvas. Colleges from across Mumbai participated in various events and inter college competitions held in these three days.

23rd January 2016 was marked as Tie and Saree Day by the Cultural Committee. Students participated with great enthusiasm by turning up in the said attire. Republic Day was celebrated by the entire staff and students with flag hoisting followed by a short cultural programme comprising of patriotic songs and street play. The Cultural Committee this year felt that students should also be made aware about their social responsibilities. In accordance with this thought we organised a Social Drive on 27th January 2016. The objective was to give away clothes, food, books, shoes, toys and anything usable to the needy and deprived children living in the areas around the college.

Students and staff of the Cultural Committee work tirelessly to make every event a success. This success would certainly not have been possible without the support of our Management and our Principal Dr M Z Farooqui.
