Environment Awareness

The objective of the committee is to make the campus Green and Eco-Friendly.

Annual Report 2015-16 Environment Committee

1. Tree plantation:
It was held from 21st July, 2015. 27 boys and 13 girls' volunteers participated in the event. 100 saplings of Neem, Banyan, Peepal and Mango were planted at Netali Village, Manor, Palghar.

2. Poster Competition on Save Environment:
Poster Competition on Save Environment was held on 8th August, 2015 in the college auditorium. Dr. Anjum Ara M.K., Vice - Principal and Convener, IQAC, Mrs. Vandana Joshi, HOD, Dept. of English and Dr. (Mrs.) Shadab Akhtar, HOD, Dept. of Foundation Course were the judges. Total 26 students participated in it.
Ms. Yogeeta Rajput, FYBCom (D) and Ms. Shehnaz Ansari, SYBCom (A) were given First and Second Prizes respectively.

3. Best Out of Waste Competition:
Best out of Waste Competition was held on 12th September, 2015 in the college auditorium. Mrs. Rajeshwari Padmanabhan, In charge, Environment Criterion, IQAC and Mrs. Shaileje Shetty, In-Charge, Dept. of Philosophy were the judges. Total 17 students participated in it. Ms. Shifa Shaikh, FYBCom (D) and Ms. Saba Quereshi, SYBCom (A) were given First and Second Prizes respectively.

4. Campus Cleaning Drive:
Campus Cleaning Drive was held on 14th August, 2015 in the college campus. 39 Students participated in the event. Students cleaned the college auditorium and NSS Office.

5. Sea Shore Cleaning Drive:
It was held on 2nd October,2015 at Sea Shore, Carter Road in association with BMC and R.D. National College, Bandra (West), Mumbai – 400 050. 24 Students participated in it.

6. Rally on Swachh Bharat Mission:
A Rally was held from Churchagate Station to Gate Way of India on Swachh Bharat Mission on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. 31 students participated in it.

7. Compost Pit
Compost Pit is made for Solid Waste Management. Wherein everyday Wet Garbage from the Canteen and Bio Degradable Garbage from the entire campus is being collected and processed in the compost pit for making manure.

8. Workshop on Solid Waste Management
A Workshop on Solid Waste Management with Stri Mukti Sanghatana was organized on 17th February, 2016 for students and staff. 52 Students and 14 staff members actively participate in the workshop.

9. Street Play on Save Water:
54 students participated in the event. Play held at Khar Danda on 9th January, 2016.

10. Making and Distribution of Paper Bags and Note-Books:
Our 64 students, from August, 2015 to January 2016 made more than 5000 paper bags and 983 note books in college the campus.
Paper bags were distributed to shopkeepers, vegetable and fish vendors and notebooks were distributed to BMC School of our community on 16th January, 2016. 72 volunteers participated in the event.
