Environmental Studies

Introduction of the Department To create awareness about quality of environment, degradation of environment and to train the students for participating in environmental quality enhancement programs. Resource distribution and its management. To create aptitude towards sustainable development.

Department of Environmental Studies offers an interdisciplinary and integrative program designed to equip students with basic skills, capabilities, and knowledge to confront a suite of environmental issues. The department combines the study of the earth's physical, chemical and biological systems with human and social systems.

The interdisciplinary field of Environmental Studies challenges students to examine both the ecological and social underpinnings of environmental issues and the complex interplay among these systems at local to global scales.

The curriculum is designed to sharpen critical thinking and problem solving skills by challenging students to translate theory and classroom learning into practice. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities, NSS and NCC.
